CIRCULARITY

We challenge ourselves to meet our goal of creating responsible fashion on the idea of circularity. Circularity is our most important vision and future for our brand.

LE CASHMERE has been working on ways to reduce our use of resources and extend the lifecycle of our products and materials. From harvested goat hair to our manufacturing, from consumers to returns, and our final upcycling process, we aim to be more responsible every step of the way, and invite you walk the path of circularity with us.

1. Grow

We collect naturally-shed hair of 100% pasture-raised goats provided with high-quality grass only. We’ve planted 6,600 trees in Mongolia to date that allow for fresh grass to grow and also prevent desertification.

2. Design & Manufacture

All manufacturing processes except the collection of raw materials done by hand are carried out domestically to minimize GHG emissions. We keep our manufacturing minimal: we wash and filter out impurities from cashmere collected, dye the material directly, and then process it into yarn. We then use whole garment knitting technology that allows for products without seams and minimal waste, and ship our clothing in bags made of 100% recycledmaterials.

3. Consumer Use

You can wear our high-quality cashmere products whenever you want with pride that your purchase helped support communities that care.

4. Return & Collect

We encourage customers to wear our clothing as long as possible, and collect our products when they are no longer being used. We are currently working to develop a system to make high-quality products with recycled materials collected from customers.

5. Upcycle

Current recycling technology only allows for recycled yarn to be made from a single material. Considering this, we make 100% cashmere products so that our products can be easily recycled. We also have an upcycled cashmere line, and clothes that we have in stock that are less than a year old are reborn as new clothes through a dyeing method.
