BRAND STORY

CIRCULAR LIBRARY

All Things Circular Fashion

On Abbot Kinney Blvd in LA, there's a vibrant space where you can find and experience everything about circular fashion. LE CASHMERE, nestled in this space, is passionate about spreading the value of circularity.

CIRCULAR LIBRARY is a community space that not only showcases sustainable brands, but also explores everything that can be said about circularity in the fashion industry. It offers a range of experiences, including exhibitions, upcycling workshops, and networking events with the local community. It also has plans to collaborate with global brands on circular themes. The aim of CIRCULAR LIBRARY is to share the culture of circular fashion.

With Abbot Kinney

Abbot Kinney in LA embraces sustainability as a natural part of everyday life. The community celebrates local culture and shares a healthy, animal-friendly culture while focusing on their own routines and tastes. Sustainable brands such as Everlane, Allbirds, and Vuori gather to create synergy in the region. CIRCULAR LIBRARY believes that this is an important first step in continuing to share information and expanding the culture of sustainability.

New Sustainable Brands

CIRCULAR LIBRARY will introduce a variety of sustainable brands. The first brands to be featured are LE CASHMERE and RE;CODE. LE CASHMERE produces sustainable cashmere through nature-friendly, animal-friendly, and producer-friendly processes. Additionally, LE CASHMERE recycles used products to create new materials. RE;CODE upcycles fashion stock and industrial materials like airbags to create distinctive collections. CIRCULAR LIBRARY also showcases exclusive collaborative collections from both brands.

Artworks on Circularity

Walking in, the first thing that catches the eye is the traditional beauty of South Korea. As the first project of the artist exhibition, CIRCULAR LIBRARY presents the work ‘Hoejang Jeogori’. It is a collaboration between ‘Onjium’, which reinterprets and recreates traditional Korean clothing through a modern lens, ‘Cutisbio’, which develops eco-friendly Aqua-Indigo dyeing methods, and LE CASHMERE. We have endeavored to revive the forgotten traditional Korean clothing of the 15th century using sustainable materials. Join us in our journey to inherit the past, enhance the present, and leave a legacy for the future.

Sustainability Everywhere

CIRCULAR LIBRARY designed the interior to show sustainability in the space itself. The center table features a piece by Derick Melander, an artist who creates geometric works by stacking discarded clothes. The building's original red brick and architecture were preserved as much as possible. Even small objects are made of sustainable materials or vintage.

Joy of Upcycling

CIRCULAR LIBRARY offers experiential sessions with the Abbot Kinney community. Participants can experience upcycling firsthand by creating new items from discarded inventory and fabrics. During the store's opening season in December, a workshop was held to make holiday ornaments from leftover materials. Engaged guests enjoyed upcycling by creating practical items for their daily lives.

LE CASHMERE aims to share the value of sustainability and circularity, starting on Abbot Kinney. We look forward to telling the story of our journey to sustainability in person at CIRCULAR LIBRARY.
